BEDALE, a horseback riding jacket released in the 1980s. This jacket is popular as a standard model even today, but the vintage appearance is a specification that can only be found in Barbour up to the 90s. At our store, we deliberately choose and purchase loose sizes that make the most of the voluminous feel of outdoor items that are unique to old Barbour. The aged cotton fabric has a very nice atmosphere and a navy body, but the charcoal-like color also gives a subdued look. After cleaning, the wax is re-applied, so the stickiness and smell peculiar to the vintage are suppressed. Since it is an old item, it rarely deteriorates over time. Please check the photos and understand the characteristics of vintage before purchasing. Bedaleの誕生と背景

Barbour Bedaleは、1980年に登場したブランドを代表するワックスドジャケットのひとつです。マーガレット・バブアーが乗馬向けの実用性を意識して設計したモデルで、モデル名は英国ノースヨークシャーの町「Bedale」に由来します。短めの着丈と動きやすいシルエットが特徴です。

英国カントリーウェアの定番

Bedaleは、もともと乗馬や屋外作業に適した実用着として作られました。ワックスドコットンによる耐候性、コーデュロイ襟、リアベント、ハンドウォーマーポケットなど、英国カントリーウェアらしい機能的なディテールを備えています。

ヴィンテージ市場での見方

ビンテージ市場では、単に古いBedaleかどうかではなく、ワラント表記、タグ、生産国表記、裏地、ジップ、スナップボタン、ポケット仕様、ワックスの抜け方などを組み合わせて年代を見ます。特に初期個体は4つポケット仕様やAEROジップなどが確認ポイントとして挙げられることがあり、2ワラント・3ワラント期の個体とは仕様差を見比べる必要があります。
