Vintage Spoon Ring [L VERNON - STERLING] Flower Engraved

Spoon rings are said to have originated in the 17th century when servants of nobles, unable to afford wedding rings, stole their masters cutlery and made their own. They were rediscovered and revived by hippies in the 1960s. Many are made by established American silverware manufacturers dating back to the 19th century, but this one is likely a designer piece from the 1970s with an elegant small floral design. The simple hoop and overall small size give it a subtle impression. It is stamped with sterling silver and appears to be somewhat adjustable in size.
