Vintage Lettered Knit Black [Unknown Brand] [1940s-] VARSITY LETTERMAN Black Panther Patch

Lettered sweater from the 1940s. In the United States, the custom of wearing patches called Varsity / Lettermans (lettered) is said to have started at Harvard University, and is still awarded to athletes with excellent results and adopted by strong schools. This is a precious piece from the 1940s. The precious black color and the emblem atmosphere are good, especially the black panther emblem placed on the left sleeve. Many of them have shrunk over time or are too small, but this one has a relatively loose silhouette. The boat neck is also a valuable specification.
